The 2022 Creative Expo Taiwan goes to Kaohsiung for the first time. Themed on “Resonance Island” to unveil dynamic cultural imagination, and presented at the Kaohsiung Exhibition Center and the Kaohsiung Music Center, the Creative Expo Taiwan constructs an unprecedented viewing route to provide a brisk and delightful experience, accompanied by the dialogue between modern architecture and the expansive harbor vista.

The key visual uses such background as the subject to respond to this year’s Creative Expo Taiwan with a strongly vibrant design, embracing the public with activeness and engaging people in a joyous encounter. Meanwhile, the visual integration scheme extends the design to both within and without the venues, crafting a cultural imagery emblematic of the harbor city.

The visual elements hinge on the imagery of islands surrounded by the sea, and demonstrate the diversity informed by interconnectedness through a combination of irregular shapes. The dense, interwoven textural structure delivers a visually resonating sense of movement, and forms a response to the core concept of the curatorial statement: the integration and resonances of complex, multiple viewpoints, which collectively give birth to the Taiwanese culture. The visual composition has an island at the center, which introduces radiating resonances together with other islands. A metaphor for pluralistic and multiple cultural viewpoints, the design points to a cultural momentum powered by resonances from a dynamic consensus, symbolizing the creation of cultural confidence that is characteristic of our island.
